Wartime, Counter Insurgency Support Office (CISO) manufactured bolo that was period disassembled, wood handles were stained and lacquered, the blade was engraved: IN APPRECIATION, SGT KEITH E. PLANCICH, SOA (CCC) 5TH SFGA, KONTUM, VIETNAM, then chromed and two beer can affixed to the blade before being reassembled.

This knife is featured in Mike Silvey’s book: KNIVES OF THE UNITED STATES MILITARY IN VIETNAM.

In 1970, Keith E. Plancich served with Military Assistance Command Vietnam Studies and Observations Group (MAC V SOG), Command and Control Central (CCC), B-Company Hatchet Forces and was involved with Operation Tailwind.
