MAC V SOG USED PILOT FLIGHT SUIT (APU-258)

Wartime, US issued K-2B Flight Suit with great history. The item was used by Military Assistance Command Vietnam Studies and Observations Group (MAC V SOG), Command and Control South (CCS) Recon Team’s. It idea was the brainchild of RT Fork’s Harlan Sandell and was used by the team to have a team member dress in the suit after insertion, walking forward to be noticed by The North Vietnamese Army as a downed US pilot. The individual was to run from the enemy and guide them into an ambush by the team. It is uncertain if the mission was actually carried out but the suit was brought home by Robert Bechtoldt whom relayed the story ans is whom I purchased it from. The piece will come with a Letter of Authenticity detailing the history of the suit and an original period photograph of Bechtoldt wearing it in-country. (inventory number APCI-258)
